RIP Andy Fletcher Depeche Mode Enjoy the Silence Video

RIP Fletch of Depeche Mode

Sadly Andy Fletcher keyboardist of Depeche Mode has died, aged 60. Very sad. A lot of people have written essays on their love of him and Depeche Mode, and I get that – but not for me. Depeche Mode have always been there since I was a kid and they are a very important band for me – check out the mashups and covers of DM I regularly play on the podcast.

I would post my favourite cover (Veruca Salt – Somebody) but turns out it was released via the Big Bad record label, so here’s the video for Enjoy the Silence which features him (he’s the blonde guy sometimes with glasses).

Also my love of DM is why I did this video a few years back for Rhythm Scholar, it was a pleasure to work with that video – a big reason was my love of Depeche Mode especially that song, and Anton Corbin’s videos.

Although he didn’t write the songs, like Alan Wilder he was an important part of the sound and kept the band going, being the deciding vote and balance of the group – and effectively a manager too. dealing with the business side of DM.

Enjoy the silence..
