I have a nasty feeling this will become a common thing as deaths from coronavirus rise, but RIP Adam Schlesinger, co-founder of Fountains of Wayne who has died from COVID-19 complications. He was 52.

I’d forgotten that one of their first singles, Barbara H. is a lost classic for a band who really tend to be thought of as almost a one-hit wonder band (Radiation Vibe was a big UK hit, Stacy’s Mom was big everywhere) but they had a real way with telling stories to lazy power pop:
