RIP Gardner Post of Emergency Broadcast Network

Not many places would know nor care who Emergency Broadcast Network (EBN) are or were, but those who know, know how important EBN were in remix and VJ culture. U2’s ZooTV tour would not have existed without them, I would have never got into video cutups and video without them, and then later mashups via them and Negativland. I urge everyone who loves mashups and remix culture to check out their videos and ‘Commercial Entertainment Product’ album. Sadly one of the founders, Gardner Post has just died.

After EBN (not totally sure if it’s still a going concern looking at the wiki page) he worked on video sculptures and the band United Content Providers.
