New song from David McAlmont and HiFi Sean – lush widscreen strings and David’s voice is a given, but the Omnichord, the lobster suit and seaside Happy Ending of the video takes it from Radio 2 territory into something else. Apparently the ‘Teletubbies Sun’ dog at the end is Fred, Sean’s dog he rescued.
And my first response was ‘David with a beard? Is he a bear now?’ – Hifi Sean is a confirmed bear, maybe he recruited David into the club? JOIN USSSS……
But yes the sweet/silly video totally makes this song. Still trying to work out where they shot this as a coastal walking nerd on the South Coast, thinking a mix of the area around Rye/Winchelsea/Camber Sands, or maybe around Pagham or Selsey/Cuckmere. Via Dunproofin
