Last year I did two jaunts I (first one was great, second one was a failure and freezing, not a problem this time with Heatwave v2 – more the opposite!), Now I am doing Jaunt 3 down in the Jurassic Coast, starting again where I failed on Jaunt 2 and this time near Weymouth – no DWP calls, or cold weather (hopefully) to stop me early. My jaunts are artist working trips – currently with coastal work the priority, but thinking of branching out soon to other areas after I’ve gone past Lyme Regis and Golden Cap.
But this time as well as Twitter and Instagram to micro podcast as I go along – hopefully every day, via Anchor – depending on my phone charge and connection status of course (I am taking batteries and solar panels again, as well as fast chargers – not taking that crappy Poundland one again!). It’s what I am calling a ‘tentcast’ – a daily diary micropodcast, short, about the work I am doing or where I have got to and the challenges I am facing.
As the blurb says “Explore the landscape and travel with Tim – a landscape artist, discussing and showing his latest work and travels as he stumbles along the coast in his one man tent, trying to be green without going into the red.“.
The latter is important, I am having to do this on the cheap…luckily I stocked up in years past (which was kind of the idea, get better gear and then rely on it to not fail (there’s always something, so hey, it’s drama for the podcast now!).
Also it’s called ‘Jaunt’ so it will be used for future trips as well, maybe even shorter local trips if I feel like it, but this will work like a short daily diary, either on the spot or a recap, and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do – mobile podcasting, short, not-music, very different from Radio Clash.
There is video options but that’s apparently only visible via Spotify -so might give those a miss, but that might be interesting, to film my artistic progress in chunks like Anchor’s app does.

Sadly the aggregator doesn’t show the episode image so you’d need to check the podcast page or your podcast app. This will be the image I am talking about. You can subscribe via your podcast software directly at the RSS link or listen at Spotify, and is currently on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Radio Public and Amazon Podcasts as well, with hopefully Stitcher and Overcast to follow.
