The KLF have rejoined the music industry

It all started with a cryptic messages over Xmas via the KLF group about railway bridges in Kingsland Road and posters, via a message on the KLF YouTube channel. Wary of another fan-made scam I ignored it…but someone *ahem* graffitied Samplecity Thru Trancentral and posted these posters talking of a release today…

So far so predictable, still could be a scam, but I find that today the KLF has released Solid State Logik, a best-of album of their 7″ singles and part of a 5-part re-release including out-takes. Mostly streaming services, Tidal, Spotify etc for the first time. It includes a properly released version of Extreme Noise Terror vs KLF and Jimmy Cauty has been busy with the extreme video for that track…Turn Up The Strobe indeed! In fact he has been a very busy boy with his recent Chinook single.

In fact given the news, as quoted here from The Graun via the posters above there is a Pure Trance release, really looking forward to that. And hopefully a physical release. Sadly sounds like any unfinished Black Album tracks are not going to be released given the 31st December 1991 cut off mentioned in the posters.

Posters put up in London suggest that there will be a second part of the Solid State Logik release, as well as four other reissue releases, under the overall title Samplecity Thru Trancentral. The other four “non-consecutive chapters” are entitled Kick-Out D’Jams, Pure Trance Series, Come Down Dawn and Moody Boys Selected. The releases will feature material released under the names the KLF, the JAMs, the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, and the Timelords, and, it is promised, “there will be out-takes”.

The Guardian

I guess the KLF have rejoined the music industry…of sorts. Welcome back, MuMus!

As to why now – maybe they ran out of money during lockdown? Maybe it is because some have pointed outt it is 1.1.21 which adds up to 23 – a number favoured by the Illuminati and occultists and thus The KLF? Maybe some license expiry or they are fed up with the sound-a-likes out there abusing The KLF name? Or maybe it is all a run-up to 2023 which is the title of one of Bill’s books.

And if that has wet your appetite for everything Dead Sheep – check out my two podcasts on the History of The KLF. I guess we will find out how many of those bootlegs are actually originals?
