Miley Cyrus, no stranger to mashups herself and being the Nine Inch Nails covering Ashley O who some think was inspired by Pom’s NIN x Carly Rae Jepsen…is mashing it up herself, taking her song Midnight Sky, drafting in Rock Queen legend Stevie Nicks as a co-vocalist and her much-sampled* Edge of Midnight.
So here they are together, it makes so much sense. And yet again proves Steviewave – Stevie Nicks vs Synthwave that we invented in the Bootie Twitch feed needs to be a thing. And another ‘officially released’ mashup song.
- someone said ‘that sounds like Destiny’s Child!’ in the comments…bless… they sampled the intro guitar for Bootylicious….
EDIT: I did look for an original guessing there was probably like always a bootleg one that prompted the official one, but couldn’t find one in the comments or press around this, it was all buried by the deluge about the new release.
Turns out mashup producer kelexandra did it first and Miley used her art and credited it on Instagram, Here is her original, which apparently Bootie have been playing a lot – I suspect I heard it and forgot!
