Zareili Soft Rains

Zarelli and Leonard Nimoy

Just heard this on Jarvis Cocker’s return show on 6Music, and it seems a great tribute to Leonard Nimoy who died yesterday to post a track from a new album featuring him from Zarelli called Soft Rains. Zarelli is Carwyn Ellis, frontman for Colorama and collaborator with Edwyn Collins, amongst many things. I’ve just bought it – it’s on iTunes and Amazon, as well as the tempting Vinyl+CD over at series aphonos

It’s based around one of my favourite short stories from one of my favourite authors – There Will Come Soft Rains by Malcolm Bradbury, a tale that haunted me since I read it, a story of the last house on Earth after a nuclear apocalypse.
