Weblogs and Webstats, Bedknobs and Broomsticks

Ok just updated my log stats software to something that can do fancy stuff, and currently filtering out all the web browsers I know so I can get reports just on the podcasting clients…wow there’s so many of them, including a few of you with Tiger (hello, get some sleep Tiger! rrraawwww!) that are using this new Safari RSS – you’re leaving ‘AppleSyndication/38’ paw marks on me logs!

Most people seem to be using iPodder 2.0 and iPodder variants, followed by NetNewsWire and Doppler…some of the entries are distinctly odd tho – CFNetwork? PlayPod? Pluck Soap Client/1.0?

Eh?

Interesting is the amount of Unique IPs and visitors to MutantPop.net in the last 6 days – 18,000 hits and 3,000+ Unique IPs – I’ll let you know how many of those are Radio Clash visitors (looks like quite a few are…trying to work out which ones are hitting the feed via podcasting clients is the fun with filtering I’m doing now, but it’s looking rather scary…)

UPDATE: Looks like I have over 1,200 Unique IP addresses regularly hitting Radio Clash with blogging tools or blogging subscription services đŸ˜® (the latter like bloglines and NNW complicate things by only using one IP for many subscribers, but politely they leave a note of how many which bumps it up a bit more than that đŸ˜‰

Mount Laurel is just outside of Philadephia, so that could be where the listeners really are. I also believe that at one point of the major NAP’s/peering points for the east coast was in nearby Pennsauken, so it could be remnants of that.
