Finally listened to Lloydbrary 250 – yes they reached the big 250 and it’s appropriately called In The Music because so many messages and feels in the tracks included. One of the biggest one for me is Fred Again featuring The Blessed Madonna – Marea (We’ve Lost Dancing).
This makes me very emotional, which is odd since I have been dancing since the lockdown was lifted, but again I am realising I have a lot of unprocessed trauma about the pandemic. Even when I have been clubbing there is still the feeling that it wasn’t the same as before the Big P. And I wonder if it will ever be the same? Has it changed for good?
I have lost a lot over the last 2 years, and I think this track expresses that – even the video version which shows more of the interview with The Blessed Madonna that is sampled is hopeful but also wary ‘it has to be!’.
Not sure this has totally born out in being marvellous in that timefreame, but yes, the message of loss and hope is an important one, and I suspect a universal one. The new normal is not normal and should never be normal , as I keep telling people. Don’t bargain it away into accepting less.
