Another day, another video from me – and this time with my artwork as well -it’s not often my musical and art worlds collide like a funky Bob Ross!
Rhythm Scholar asked me to do some artwork for his mashup remix of Slick Rick’s Children’s Story, and then suggested I film it and make a video…so I did! And it’s just been released, it’s been a long process, we started this in Lockdown 1 in 2020, so glad this collaboration finally made it.
Slick is a local boy, Mitcham born and bred – although moved to New York as a kid, so great to have some local flavour in there – the lavender purples, the wing collars. And the remix is classic RS – hiphop funky drops from Bob James, Dexter Wansel, Chicago Gangsters and Lyn Collins. Is it a mashup? Is it a remix? Is it a plane? I don’t know but it’s a lot of fun to edit a video to, I can tell you that!
