I stumbled by accident on this documentary about Hugh Wilson and the Hinewai reserve rewilding a desolate part of New Zealand for the last 30 years. It’s an amazing story, and also some wonderful nature porn for New Zealand.
Calming and inspirational and shows that when people call you (or indeed Hugh Wilson) a ‘fool and dreamer’ you’re probably on the right track. And the idea that nature is totally denuded is bullshit – it can be rewilded and it can bounce back.
