In the dark of winter I’ll go for anything that reminds me of the sun, and the exotic deep house of Marshall Jefferson’s Open Your Eyes will do just fine. Apparently this track was the inspiration for 808 State’s Pacific State according to Graham Massey.
Proper deep house, not this strange modern version which isn’t deep nor is it house, that’s more ‘shallow minimal EDM’ made by ex-future garage post-dubstep types. To those I say: listen…open your ears, and learn.
