Listening to Tom Robinson’s Now Playing on 6Music playing new music and this track by Silverclub came around. I like it for two reasons 1) 90’s influences are being used now, sounds like they have an intimate knowledge of fellow Mancunians 808 State (listen past the 3 minute mark – THAT bassline) which is NOT a bad thing and 2) it’s also like quite a few of the tracks taking 1990s sounds, it sounds new and has a modern production. A bit baggy, a bit chillwave, a bit psych, a bit big beat – retro yet new. Like.
