My internal critic (and external, you know who you are, haters stay mad) limits what mashups of mine I share here or put on the podcasts (usually max 2-3 per episode, sometimes less – I am actually more critical with my work than of others partly cos of the trial by fire in my early mashup ‘career’). I have a whole blog for that, but I like to share the ‘highlights’, the greatest hits (?!) as it were. This Charlatans vs Men Without Hats is one of those!
They say ‘anger is an energy’ and ‘the best revenge is success’ so I took that anger and finished this mashup for the laste Crumplbangers Challenge which is totally CanCon – and I didn’t before the challenge realise Men Without Hats are Canadian!
Total 80’s Boomer Shit, but Charlatans baggy meets synth pop and if I DJ’d indie discos anymore, it’d be a dancefloor banger. Men Without Hats Safety Dance was on the first ever broadcast of Radio Tim (listeners 1, location my childhood tape deck) off the radio, it was a song I loved dearly.
