B2B Discord Party with PDSMix

Last night myself and PimpDaddySurpreme aka PDSMix went back to back – doing an hour each on his Discord in the Mukbang Danceteria – partly to try it out, and partly support him because Twitch have suspended him #freePDSMix.

I did three sets – here they are! All these mixes are almost entirely from my ‘to play’ folder for Radio Clash, so it’s a bit of a random trawl/preview through 84GB of music! I challenged myself to play new stuff inspired by PDS’s sets and also choose the lesser known paths, rather than the well-worn ones, sometimes I was playing blind with tracks I hadn’t heard in a long time, just to see what would happen – so I am pretty happy with the mix given I had zero plan of what I wanted to play. Totally free-form.

I had to recreate the first 10-20 mins on the first two cos of COURSE I forgot to press record and had some technical difficulties (hence the cover image – I actually streamed direct from Traktor after that and killed the Twitch/YT streams).

Also halfway I had to basically turn it into a tutorial of ‘How To Mix By Sight’ cos Discord was picking up my monitoring meant it gets a lot less smooth towards the end (before I got a decent soundcard, that’s how I had to mix Radio Clash, Podcast History Fans – so I know how, but it makes some really genres hard cos you can’t see the beats….)

I found it far better and easier to stream on Discord than Twitch – no RAIDs needed, GIFs in chat for maximum crumpl, and you can easily jump back to back between several streams at once making the transitions better. And NO Hype Trains. I don’t think you realise how much hype trains and emoji walls frustrate me as a Twitch viewer.

I think Discord streaming is the future! P.S. don’t forget Radio Clash has a Discord too – all the cool kids have them! You are welcome over there.

This is probably the most ‘DJNoNo‘ and Crumplbang of the three.
