I rarely ever watch documentaries on YouTube. Even rarely a science documentary. Never a documentary about…falsifying data and research?! Sounds boring right? Wrong. I just spent nearly two hours watching these.
This is the story of how Jan Hendrik Schön became a Physics superstar, on the way maybe to a Nobel prize…until it all came crashing down.
Watch these excellently produced videos by Bobby Broccoli and you will be transfixed at how he tells the story and visualises it – love the Google Earth and Blender animations, almost like Fez meets Adam Curtis or BBC Horizon (remember them?). And the deepest dive in to very dry academia made – dare I say it – sexy? And explained to lay people.
It even got the nod on YouTube from Don Monroe, one of the people who researched the case and mentioned within as one of the first people to question Jan Hendrik Schön’s data.
