RIP Mike Nesmith

Aww no it’s obviously the season where we lose good people…Mike Nesmith of the Monkees and basically inventing music television fame has died aged 78.

Here are some of my fave Mike Nesmith tunes – Tapioca Tundra, Listen to the Band, Mary Mary and The Girl I Knew Somewhere both of which he didn’t sing on the Monkees release but wrote, Don’t Call On Me, Rio – which his Elephant Parts basically formed the idea for PopClips that Warner Cable wanted to buy and Mike refused, and they created their own which became MTV,
