Happy Hanukkah!

Well 2-3? days late, but celebrating Hanukkah every night Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin are doing Hanukkah Sessions again, celebrating Jewish music in funny and surprising ways.

I mean Dave being in a dress isn’t the most surprising thing about the cover of Lisa Loeb’s Stay…

And for night two, hey ho it’s the Ramones, but slightly altered (they were nice Jewish boys after all) and also I guess commenting that Dave is a goy boy (but Greg is Jewish)… 😉 (via Solcofn)

I missed them from last year…where they covered Beastie Boys – first time I’ve heard Dave rapping – indeed he covers Drake next even doing the infamous meme dancing with a menorah – and then cover Peaches. WHY DID NO-ONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS? It’s rather X-rated, as all Peaches is, and you can guess by a track called ‘Fuck The Pain Away’!

Also surprisingly they cover Elastica (not the fact Justine is Jewish, I knew that – more the genre, didn’t ever expect Dave to sing Britpop) and The Knack and it’s NOT My Sharona (that was a cover anyway, not their song). which shows Greg’s chops as does the Velvet Underground cover – again not the obvious choice.
