Can’t believe that SOPHIE aka Sophie Xeon is gone at age 34, apparently Sophie fell while climbed up to look at the full moon in Athens. They had so much to offer and a rare thing: a trans pop adn electronica star – one of the first out transgender artists to be nominated for a Grammy, and seemingly preparing to release more music in 2021.
The future seemed very bright for Sophie. So sad.
Love this mix from that livestream….I have featured Sophie on the podcast before, and I think this would be a good way to remember them.
EDIT – I originally tweeted earlier using the wrong pronouns as the post from Sophie’s labels Transgressive and Future Classic used female ones, but it turns out Sophie preferred to not be gendered. So I deleted/edited those posts. Please be aware.
