RC 337: Age of Consent – 16th Anniversary Mashup Show

Radio Clash is legal – well not in that way sadly, but in the ways that count. It’s 16 years old so it can shag and smoke and look cool…in a pandemic?

So it seemed appropriate to celebrate this anniversary with where we began, the second of the all-mashup shows focusing partly on 2004 when the podcast started. It also includes an exclusive mashup demo from myself and another track with a past secret alias, and a new Dean Gray mix from Party Ben as that celebrates another anniversary, 15 years since the release of American Edit.

We mix it up with pounding mashcore from a bootleg classic, experimental cutups new and old from Negativland’s new album to the anniversary 20 years ago with the Droplift Project, Neil Cicerega and Pirates of The Internet aka St Allio with his MIcrosoft anti-piracy cutup, and Yes Sir We Can Boogie to officially released mashups from Phil n’ Dog and Kelexandra. Featured artists/sections include Kylie, New Order, and Michael Sembello and a new comeback mashup from Solcofn and a message to Trump.

It’s a busy episode!

Big thanks to Adriana, Pomdeter, Ian Fondue, DJ Tripp, Andy Churchill and Pimpdaddysupreme for helping with finding and dating tracks for this episode, and it is dedicated to Tim Drury who is going through a bad time and I hope this helps. That’s all my podcasts can hope for in these strange times, offer solace and a place to escape and resonate.

The artwork is drawn by myself is based off the original Radio Clash artwork, It is Gary Cooper from High Noon which originally intended for London Booted – it was used for rather obscure arty reasons – the original photo pose and images from the film has been mashed up via Elvis, Warhol, Gavin Turk and even Solidarity in Poland!
