Message from 10 Days In THe Future

I keep reminding people – the world as you know it is changing, maybe for good, but certainly for the next few months at least. They seem to think they can go on as before, resume their former life in a few days or weeks, or just act like it isn’t happening. Sorry, nope. 12 weeks…or more. And some of us higher risk individuals will still have to be wary of any mass gatherings until possibly next year, if not 18 months until a vaccine is produced or even a cure. (There is great work happening on that front, all kinds of countries pulling together racing to find a vaccine – but don’t have false hope, testing will mean many months before anything could be rolled out).

And a reminder of this is the disaster of Italy – it was 1,000 when this video was made, 1,809 when released 4 days ago, and now 3,00o are dead and rising. Italian deaths have now overtaken China, where the outbreak started. The UK and other countries are said to be about 10 days behind them, and the fact that Italian quarantine meant people fled to othr parts of Italy has just spread the virus even more shows how important it is to stay at home or practice social distancing.

Don’t believe me? Think it’s just a cold? Watch this video from Italians speaking to themselves 10 days in the future. And think: that’s us in a week unless we act now and take it seriously.

Don’t be like they were 10 days ago…act now
