RIP GPO

RIP Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV infamy, they were 70.

I guess they are united, Genesis and Jaye. wherever they may be out in the aether. Blessings to his family as well.

Love this random interview, with Caresse and I guess Paula and Genesse dancing to Godstar:

My favourite albums of his has to be Dreams Less Sweet with Andrew Poppy and Force The Hand of Chance with ‘Just Drifting’, ‘The Orchids’ and others which reclaim easy listening strings and classical into something darker and deeper at a time people were clanging bits of metal and aping TG – although their ’20 Jazz Funk Greats’ hinted at that breaking out of the Industrial ghetto.

Also lesser known is his involvement with early acid house in the UK, with Jack the Tab and Tekno Acid Beat ‘fake’ compilations which are mostly all him, Richard Norris and Dave Ball.

Normally, I wouldn’t bother mentioning this, but GPO was a pretty appalling person (especially to the women in their life). I hope they don’t rest in peace, honestly.

I don’t think he treat Lady Jaye badly? I don’t know about Paula and I know he was cutup about the divorce but two sides and all that. Not come across anything really nasty but it doesn’t surprise me. A lot of the industrial scene is horrible if you scratch the surface (at least he wasn’t a fascist like Boyd Rice)

He was a complex person, and not always good – I mean the whole flirting with dodgy images which got him into trouble with the post office and I am not an apologist for TOPY and all that oddness, or Crowley/Thelema following OTO shizzle. But I think overall he was a force for good.
