Great video about Mossack Fonseca and the tax EVASION* (no, not ‘avoidance’) scandal from Panama. Interesting thing though is that NO – read ZERO – North American people have been mentioned in the leaks so far. (video via Jez Biggs)

Could this be something to do with where International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (who revealed the leak) gets their money from?

Oh surprise, it’s from United States and that’s all from billionaires:

Rockerfeller Foundation and Rockefeller Family
George Soros via ‘Open Society Foundation’
Carnegie Fund
Goldman-Sonnenfeldt Foundation – yes THAT Goldman, very adept at revealing corruption that one!
and the (Henry) Ford Foundation.

Because billionaires always have the world’s best interests at heart, and never use offshore tax EVASION*. BullSHIT.

It’s morally wrong and should be legally wrong. If poorer citizens have to pay tax, so should the richest citizens. Same for all. Otherwise you just end up with a two-tier society, and we all know how well those went (*cough*Imperial Rome*cough* *cough*1780’s France*cough*). Thing is if you show that the law is completely fluid and unjust, eventually the poorer citizens say screw the rich-person’s-law and chop the heads off those rich people. Happened again and again throughout history. You need to rule by consent of everyone, not just the rich 1%.

Otherwise it’s hanging from lampposts you go…

Also depressing is how quickly the shutters of many in the media clanged shut (if they were open at all), with DUMB front pages. Oh no we can’t have the Queen involved (yes Coutts have also had their shitty snouts in the trough – oh sorry Dave, bad analogy. Memories yeah? 😛 As well as – no surprise here – Credit Suisse, UBS and known fined money launderers HSBC.)

Yesterday’s Evening Standard lead with a story about someone being stabbed over pasta (and didn’t lead with it on Monday or Tuesday either, odd since London is the world’s financial capital, maybe it’s Russian owner has something to hide? Also Barclay Brothers who own the Torygraph are themselves tax exiles and pay no corporate tax on the Ritz), Daily Express on Tuesday lead with ‘Walnuts Prevent Heart Disease!’ and Telegraph ignored it for 2+ days – like the Standard has only covered it today with the David Cameron storm!

And in the US it didn’t make the front page at all. How convenient. Especially for Hillary et al, whereas Bernie Sanders has been campaigning against this for years…I await the smoking gun about that, but given who ICIJ are, I doubt that will happen unless the leak leaks?

* I call it like it is, you can use all these clever semantic tricks [pathethic-nerd-voice]’ooh it’s ‘avoidance’ not ‘evasion’ [/pathethic-nerd-voice], but evading tax completely means less hospitals, less schools, less nurses, less police, less of everything while using all these resources like a sleazy freeloader.
