Five Finger Death Punch and Marvin Gaye - "Let's Get Bleeding" Bill McClintock mashup video

New Bill McClintock – Five Finger Death Punch vs Marvin Gaye

A return to form for Bill McClintock is this just released mashup with Marvin Gaye’s ‘Let’s Get It On’ vs Five Finger Death Punch ‘The Bleeding’ with a bonus Iron Man solo from Black Sabbath.

I’m not really up on 5FDP as ver kids say it (cute guitarist though) but I like how this blends. Not everything of Bill’s flows this well – sometimes the solos can feel a little tacked on after the fact, but here it just flows in the style I fell in love with a long time ago, this is Classic Bill. Also feel Bill’s been working more on his video transitions and editing flow, good job!

Also Marvin mashes are always welcome here, as is being introduced to bands I don’t know that well. So to hear a song and a band I don’t know that well – yes I know there has been FFDP mashes in the past but don’t recognise that song – is also refreshing.

In Mashup World it can feel a little like Groundhog Day, people using the same sources repeatedly. It’s why I tend not to post as much about mashups here, because it really has to be exceptional as many are meh-shups or clever but I’ve heard it so many times before.

Like yes, I appreciate the technical skills of using 5/10/15+ songs in a mashup, but it rarely flows or has a working narrative theme, or work as a song in itself. Mashups are songs too, you know?

Take the nostalgic/meme/cultural references away, does it work as an original song if covered? Many don’t – which is why my heart usually belongs to A vs Bs – or A vs B vs C’s like this where the feel, music and flow are completely sync.

The download as always is over at Remix.Audio.
