Halloween II: 2 more scary albums

And hot off the press of the Lewis Wake Halloween mashup album Hallowake II, we have IWill Battle’s Bootlegs From The Black Lagoon and Bootie’s yearly Booootie 8, which feature two tracks from iWillBattle and Lewis Wake as featured on their respective albums! So a combined post is in order I think, there’s more crossovers than Scream or Nightmare on Elm Street.

(This post has been brought to you by the colour black and the number 2, seemingly) – ahahahaha!

Talking of Nightmare, one of the high points on both albums is iWillBattle’s Bring A Nightmare To My Life (Evanescence x DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince) which despite my visceral dislike of Evanescence and all the causes of them, it’s a good mashup. My favourite from Will’s album though is I Got The 2 Of Us (Grover Washington x Eminem x Luniz) which takes two really overused sources – the Eminem and the Luniz and gives them a new spooky spin with the Grover Washington.

That’s the one I went ‘damn’ cos I wish I could have included it in the latest podcast.

Then we have Halloween Boootie 8, with two tracks from the aforementioned two mashup artists, but also a great track by LeeDM101 – Lost Celebration (Gerard McMahon vs. Depeche Mode) taking Black Celebration – one of my fave DM tracks and undermashed definitely, with Lost Boys kids chorus via Gerard McMahon’s Cry Little Sister from the soundtrack. Always great to see Burt Reynolds Mashup with his Weird Science / Ghostbusters crossover Weird Busters (Ray Parker Jr. vs. Oingo Boingo).

Mark Johnce’s Mister Crowley electro bootleg bounces along nicely, but I have to plead the fifth on a certain Love Shack bootleg (I prefer the original and the recent reboots despite it’s viral fame – even apparently etting a major music award, it really is someone else’s work, as the TikTok version/officiallty released version cut off the third element that made it different. So I still think credit were credit is due).
