Music theory of mashups

Via SpareElbowSkin, this is a fascinating video – I had heard of Quodlibet, it’s all over the Wikipedia Mashup page like a Radio 3 rash – but the idea of stacking mashups til basically madness is fun.

The thing is, I never studied any of this stuff – sometimes it shows, LOL – but I subscribe to the punk idea of trying it, getting out there and doing it…because the things that *shouldn’t work* usually do the best. Rules are for suckers 😀
