DEAD POETS SOCIETY by Beets This came up randomly I think during a Bandcamp trawl, it's by BEETS and Dead Poet's Society is a concept album of those who burned out too young, leaving their music. Fallen rappers, singers, comics, musicians all together, from Nick Drake to Biggie, Elliott Smith to Bill Hicks, ODB to Patsy Cline, Leonard Cohen to Phife Dawg, Amy Winehousue to Jim Morrison and 2Pac to Billie Holiday. What I like as with the Kleptones albums is the attention to detail, the spoken word and news samples, the linking parts, this isn't some throwaway hip-hop blend mixtape, a lot of care has been taken here to mix styles and genres, and say something deeper.
