CjR Mix – You Should Be Pressure Movin (Sunscreem vs Bee Gees vs S Club 7 – Instamatic video)

Created specially for CjR Mix’s latest dancefloor-tastic mashup combining ‘You Should Be Dancing’ by The Bee Gees – as seen in Saturday Night Fever – Sunscreem’s Pressure (Sunscreem really should have been bigger, they had the tunes and a darker side) and S Club 7’s Don’t Stop Movin’ which is still a total CHOON even though I never really liked anything else they did!

I watched Saturday Night Fever for the first time (don’t judge me!) before making this and was struck by the contrast of Bay Ridge and the glamour of the nightclub, and how the bridge is a metaphor for escape, and how so many of the characters needed a release at the weekend but also an escape from the pressure of their lives…so it fitted really well with the ‘Release me’ message of the Sunscreem song – which is surprisingly serious for what sounds like a fairly typical early 90’s pop-dance song.

Irony is, the article the film was based on ‘Tribal Rites of the New Saturday Night’ was admitted 20 years later to be a complete fabrication!
