Bootie Mashup is asking people on their Discord to nominate their 3 best mashups of 2022 for inclusion for . So I made a list...and ended up with 38 32! So I'm taking the top 3 - which are the only ordered ones, the rest are pretty much equal 4th - and I decided to posting my list here. The choices are from tracks I played on the podcast in 2022 and the last month of 2021 (December the 1st is the cutoff date for me) or have in my stack to play. BTW something in the stack but not played for a bunch of reasons - stuff that doesn't play nicely with other tracks, like weird tempos or harmonics or even certain keys tend to get played less -weirdly I seem to get stuck in the 10-3 half of in the Open Key Wheel, and I am not sure why. I usually find I am trying to desperately find something to harmonically pair a 5-8m/d with in Traktor.! To be fair, the rules of the Bootie allows a DJ to pick one of their tracks - so I allowed each of my aliases to pick one. And then ironically gave my #4 place to iWillBattle as well, Cherndelifer cannot be denied. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v0NfELrmvel0 The #1 is by Aggro1 still my favourite, it's how I heard Taylor Swift's Anti-Hero and it still stands up as the best one so far - and there has been many. And CastleR's Story of My Journey - or Burn Out, could be either - meant a lot to me. So many feels....Yes me? Including a MCR mashup? With MY repulation for not liking MCR mashes? Yup. Weirdly like a few of these I can't find the CastleR tracks posted online, so I have lined to the podcasts that featured them...a lot of this selection is about feels. There are a lot of great mashups, but not many make me laugh or cry. Many of these did that. (also if any pedant is going to point out DJFnoFno is bending the rules...well it's DJNoNo, it's what he does but that track was fnogg's idea, DJNoNo just created it). Also I think these are all December 2021 or later, it's hard to tell since both Sowndhaus and YouTube helpfully say 'ay year ago' which doesn't really help. Thankfully I have a solution for the latter ;-) (this list started at 38 tracks til I disqualified a load). And yes. a lot of Gayle and T-Swift, Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish. Lorde and Katy Perry - truly is the age of the new diva! This list ranges from club bangers to crumplbangers, plunderphomics, moody mashes, indie, disco, rock, electronica, bagpipes, drum and bass, game soundtracks and 8-bit, emo, and whatever GHOST DATA is ''aether pop electronic dreamsynth Houston' according to their Bandcamp.
