I usually do compilation albums every 2 years, but 2023 was my 20th year of making mashups, and thankfully a good year for mashup from all the aliases and so I thought I'd do a 'Best of' the year, 26 of my best tracks. It's called 'I Just Work Here - 2023 *etc'. I Just Work Here - 2023 *etc by fingertrouble aka Reality Engine Each of these were made in that year, by various aliases - mostly Instamatic and Captain Obvious, but also DJNoNo and tbc. Also it was mostly my main Crumplstock 12 set (in fact there were tracks in both of them, but this one was almost entirely from this bar one track. Reducing this down to an hour was unusually hard, as was this selection. I did a lot of good mashups in 2023, but I think these were the ones I am specifically proud of - and those who didn't make the cut but were good enough are 8 bonuses. One of these tracks was never properly released as well! Title comes from something I say all the time 'I Just Work Here' - a strange alienated shrug of a phrase...always found it odd because if you work somewhere you're responsible somehow, rather than an excuse?
