Well he'll always be Twinkleboi to me, but TDYLAN aka Toby Dylan as he is known now of Bushwhacked fame has released a back catalogue of mashups and mixes over at Bandcamp called 'mixed x mashed'. He's not really returning either, since he never stopped doing remixes and mashups! So my title is a bit dumb really. The 'of' and 'sorta' are correct ;-) mixed x mashed by TDYLN And mighty fine it is too - some I'd not heard, some I remember fondly (hey kids - a decade before the fairly recent Soundclown shizzle with Thomas the Tank Engine we were doing nasty/funny things with it back in the 00's ;-)). Listening back it's also more experimental than I remember - like the Lacrimosa Mozart remix or the sound collage of XP sounds - WAY before Neil Cicierega did it, I hasten to add. I think these will get plays on the podcast in future. I guess we were all plunderphonic and we didn't know it! I don't think TobyThe Artist Formerly Known As Twinkleboi gets the respect or love he deserves being there early on in bootlegs and bastard pop, he was one of the originators back in at least 2003/4 (or probably earlier) and exactly the kind of legacy we are trying to preserve with the Bootleg Archive. That's why Bushwhacked was top my list to find and preserve, and I'm glad he's posted this compilation because it makes my job a lot easier :-) He was also one of the first UK podcasters & queercasters (or queerpodders we used to call them) along with myself, 1st wave bleepches! And as most of these are pre-2014, I will be adding those older ones to his Archive entry (I asked and he kindly said yes).
