TX2 - No Love Like Christian Hate from Radio Clash Podcast: - London-based global music podcast feat. covers, mashups, remixes, and bootlegs since 2004.
Punk never dies (but it smells that way) as the old joke goes, but every generation finds their own way to it, and it seems like Florida rocker and rapper TX2 has studied intensely at the School of Green Day and 00’s emo punk – and that’s not a criticism! Everyone is welcome in the House of Punk. It’s what you do with it that counts. Like hiphop, it’s all about your voice, what you say not the style. There’s a lot to be angry in these times, and what’s happening in the States with anti-drag bills and hypocritical Republican governors who think Christian love is to hate. They are called out by name in this song – Randy McNally lieutenant governor of Tennessee who has been caught flirting with young LGBTQ models with explicit photos on Instagram while enforcing a ‘drag ban’ and other anti-LGBTQ laws, and Bill Lee the current governor of Tennessee. Great video also, showing how the indoctrination starts in schools, and how they want to mould kids minds to hate or ostracise queer kids and adults. Love the dress (kilt?) too…walk it like you talk it! We need more statements like this, it does seem a lot of people hedge their bets by being publicly vocal but then it never makes it into the music. And also this sound, emo/00’s punk is very much the sound of now, it’s come back – and if you’re gonna get inspired by any punk album, along with anything by The Clash or The Sex Pistols, American Idiot is a very good place to start! via @hinoirocks aka Anthony.
