Second of the ‘songs I’d love to hear at a festival if I could afford to go/get a ticket’ bangers is this newly released tune by HAAi featuring Jon Hopkins – total bliss pop banger, and the beats sound very much like Jon’ Hopkin’s older euphoric dreamy style which is Not A Bad Thing since I’m a bit lost with that last new-agey drone ambient album of his.
I know almost nothing about HAAi apart from she’s Teneil Throssell and Australian, and has been releasing tracks since 2017 – listening to her early stuff I can hear the psych influence as she apparently used to be a psych band which split up.
I’m also guessing like me she spends a lot of time in London parks – the parakeets, pigeons and swans that pop up in her titles! What’s next, jackdaws and starlings? (who really have taken over along with parakeets, wrestling the manor from pigeons and squirrels in London parks and beyond, they seem to be the real beneficiaries of lockdown…)
