Deafheaven - Great Mass of Color from Radio Clash Podcast: - London-based global music podcast feat. covers, mashups, remixes, and bootlegs since 2004.
Was watching Dunproofin's Spin set (Fridays and Saturdays at 10pm UK time) and he raided moshtalks hosted by Beez which I'd not heard before who did a great video set of metal - some requests (Gojira! Motorhead!), some his choices (Slayer is always welcome, Sepultura, classic stuff and newer stuff I'd not heard of). I mentioned Deafheaven and he played the new one which I'd not heard yet. I was blown away.... Well, if you like shoegaze metal, and beautiful floating vocals - weird to describe any hard rock or metal as 'pretty' but this is it - Beez said 'elegant' which it totally is. I mean Mogwai is the obvious one, but also Durutti Column on the quiet bits - then it rocks LOUD. Deafheaven have an album out in August, really looking forward to it now, I suspect it might be greater than Sunbather if this is anything to go by.
