RC #309: Make Art GRATE Again

Aka don’t tell the trees – cos the trees don’t need to know! Those useless trees might be silently judging you, though. A trip alternating between Brexit, BoJo and Trump and making good art as a response. It’s not downbeat, it’s not upbeat, it’s sort of middlebeat. Glasses halfway and all that.

From novelty songs about toffpot dictators to angry Ozzie punk, nostalgic britpop and indie, ice-cold synth covers and new wave, feminist black metal and wild horses with problems, folktronica and tubular bells, roots reggae and old big band tunes, club-sampling grime and UK hiphop, British coups and walls that fall, the return of jungle and the end of a ‘cult lo-fi’ songwriter. It’s all there and all over the shop, but that reflects the times we are in.
