I think I’ve heard this a few times maybe Duckie even though I didn’t recognise it then, and most recently heard it on Don Letts Culture Clash where I was doing something else and half-listening and thought ‘what’s that Lily Allen one?’. Oops!
Turns out it’s actually Charlotte Adigéry with High Lights, seemingly an ode to buying and wearing too many wigs and a video that would make RuPaul a bit jealous. So far, so pop.
But on closer inspection it seems to be a sharp critique of said trend, not many songs have a chorus repeating ‘I’m nobody…nobody’ – or maybe it jus celebrates anonymity. Love the production on this too.
