When comes to Pachelbel’s Canon in D Minor it’s easier to say which songs WEREN’T influenced by it…Streets of London, Let It Be, Go West, I Should Be So Lucky (which I think rips another classical piece too), Don’t Look Back In Anger, Puff The Magic Dragon, No Woman No Cry, Men At Work – Down Under…and that’s just a short list. It’s interesting some of my favourite songs are based on this progression – Go West, Today by Smashing Pumpkins for example, Let It Be Me, Forever Young, and even I can’t hate U2’s With or Without You, and some of the most annoying (Mr Brightside which also mashes in Ode To Joy as well – but as I mashed it fairly successfully with Underworld – Born Slippy I guess it’s also partly based on Canon too?).
Oddest song inspired by that progression is My Chemical Romance…LOL.
