Dancing in a war

Just come across the inspiring story of Ahmad Joudeh, fighting his own war to dance in Syria as a Palestinian, under the threat of being killed by terrorists. Very moving the shots of him dancing again at Palmyra, where he’d danced in 2007, and ISIS executions had previously happened, and is now destroyed. And dancing in the ruins of his former house, I was tearful at those.

The story has a good ending though despite his call up to the army – it was seen by the artistic director of the Dutch National Ballet who got him out and dancing in Amsterdam.
