New Order Glastonbury 1987

I’ve heard this gig but never seen it – but it seems someone was in the crowd with a video camera and filmed the whole gig, and of course the audio was broadcast on Radio 1 (not sure if I was listening, maybe since I got into New Order around that time).

Never knew that the video for True Faith was partly shot then. Saw them at Glastonbury last year, but what I’d give for a time machine to go back and see their mid-80’s performances…patchy sometimes (listen to the flat version of True Faith!) but like Your Silent Face and Elegia proves, sometimes amazing.

EDIT: There’s some mean guitar work from Gillian at the end during a blistering version of Sister Ray – she joined originally as a second guitarist, after all.
