Not wanted to post here (I did on my LJ) because I dunno, I do my ranting at Brexit types is elsewhere, those friends or friends of friends who deny racism is EVEN happening – even when the police are confirming the 57% rise figure in hate crimes and many hundreds of examples on social media and elsewhere. Yes even in London, where in true Niemoeller fashion they’re chanting ‘Rule Britannia, Britannia rules the waves, first we’ll get the Poles out, and then we’ll get the gays’, but of course this is all a Remain plot and is all lies *cough*. And it’s all over social media, US sites, politicians talking about – even frigging Sky, in-between stabbing Boris Johnson in the back and supporting Pob as the new Prime Minister. But yes, it’s all #falseflag lies, it’s all made up, none of it’s real. Including that referendum, which some seem to have treated like My First Pony Election or Virtua Election 2016: Yes You Can Redo It. Bregret? WHAT. THE. FUCK.
My country has gone mad, basically. I do apologise. And all over immigration, which is a codeword for ‘I don’t want no steenking Poles/Muslims/anyone who isn’t a mongrel who arrived between the Beaker people to around 50-100 years ago’. Yes racism or xenophobia, basically…however the Brexit lot get all huffy and defend themselves, I’ve not heard a single response that doesn’t really boil down to ‘I hate brown/black/foreign people’ or some vague concept of ‘sovereignty’ as if we’ll find the rest of the Empire down the back of the sofa. (clue: those Keep Calm and Carry On posters don’t mean we are still in the 1940s).
There is an argument re: Syriza and what’s happening in Portugal and the Meditteranean, but I guess they didn’t find those after they Googled when the election had closed. Yes really. You don’t deserve a democracy if you treat it like a joke, a farce, and don’t even fucking Google it until it’s too late?
So yes, the brain drain has started, and all over some very unqualified (biggest voter block that voted Leave: those without degrees) people fearing that migrants were coming to steal their jobs. Well as Stanhope says in the video above (might be a repost but what the heck) – if you’re worried that someone who can barely speak the language, has none of the local culture or support network and probably is less qualified can steal your job, then maybe you should’ve had better qualifications because that’s a pretty low bar to hit. As he points out neuro-surgeons don’t complain about immigrants stealing their jobs!
Maybe you should’ve stayed at school, rather than blaming others for your lack of skills or sheer stupidity? But it’s easier to be a racist twunt than actually do the hard work and get yourself through college or university…Yes that might sound vaguely ‘Get On Your Bike’ – even *gasp* Tory – but I’m amazed at the British ability – well more English – to point the finger anywhere except at home. Others want to come in and make a life and will work hard? Closing the borders will take us back to an early 1970’s world where ‘jobsworths’ were everywhere and nothing got done…I don’t think that’s an improvement. And this is ALL a distraction – those who voted Leave and are in the poorest categories because they believed certain tabloids on Europe will find their jobs cut, their pensions gone, the safety net created by Europe cut away. They ironically will be the worst hit category, and they voted for it. Austerity Part 2: Deeper and Longer.

Me? Well don’t expect me to fix it; or the hard-left…the rise in neo-fascism is upsetting but I have been warning about it for years. But no-one voted for the Left, allowed it to be crushed by Cameron and Thatcher. Annoyed that the socialists because they still have a soul and empathy are expected to fix far-right fuckups like this, and/or like Corbyn get the blame even though it’s not their fault at all. I don’t think this is fixable…should’ve listened years ago, but people were voting for their own wallets then, and fuck the poor. Shy Tories have been the downfall of this country.
Well, as you’ll see…the poor are going to get very angry indeed. I just hope they lynch the Tories and rich first. Not that real revolution will happen – this is Britain after all – but I expect serious fireworks in Northern Ireland, Scotland leaving and Wales maybe too…leaving us alone on this damp little isle with waxwork figures like Gove & BoJo & Farage & co. who’s idea of leadership since Brexit is to look uncomfortable, admit they lied and have no plan. Oh joy!
