Banksy on the refugee crisis

Hard hitting, but given those images of drowned refugee children (guessing one of the ships that sank near Zuwarah, Libya…a Google image search with those terms is harrowing, and that’s without the children) have been scrubbed off Facebook, I guess a victim of a triggered ‘flagging’, I wonder how long this Banksy image will stay.

Odd the unwritten rule that dead children must not be seen – not even heard, just ignored. These images like the ones of the Virginia TV shooting are harrowing, but aren’t a lurid tabloid interest, they’re shocking…but so they should be. If people live in a bubble where the ‘migrants’ are ‘cockroaches’ or a ‘swarm’, then it means true horror can prevail without the cold light of scrutiny to stop it. People can stay comfy in their bubbles, and talk about migrants in the way the Germans saw Jews, LGBTQ and others in the camps…until they saw the results.
