Heard this song from artist Scott King via Jeremy Deller’s stand in for Iggy Pop, a great show of music made by artists and art-school graduates from Throbbing Gristle to The KLF, Add N To (X) to Beta Band, Roxy Music to Frank Sidebottom and David Shrigley.
Love the lines ‘intellectual Meccano’ and the digs at Henry Moore (which I agree with), Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol…although at the start I was wondering if it was some Thrills-style Chris Morris spoof on silly artist names, or in-jokes. I missed the Add N To (X) Steve Claydon shout at the start but no idea what the Frapuccino Kid comment means? Shows how little I know of the current art world!
