Beautiful bit of tech-noir with an Oculus Rift / Virtual Reality retrofuturist theme, this video for John Carpenter’s Night is wonderfully moody. If you don’t know about Lost Themes, his original album of themes without a film created with his son Cody and Daniel Davies then you need to check it out ASAP. (video via Cartelmike)
Also the Zola Jesus and Dean Hurley remix of Night give it another dimension entirely. I note that Giorgio Moroder’s album is out in June (seems like so many releases I’m waiting for are out in June? Slaves debut also and a few others!) so it seems a year of synth pioneers coming back to the fold…
