Got an email from Anton Maskeliade from Russia about his new video for Chabrec (below) shot in an old Zaporozhets car, with live triggered visuals. Not sure why the fencing bit, but love the fact he’s using Leap Motion control, it’s like Theremin for the 10’s (Lev Sergeyevich Termen was also Russian, so it comes full circle). And the music has a nice mix of glitch, indie, shoegaze and 8-bit a la Disasterpeace.
Also I love the idea of ambient electronica – i.e. made in the ambience of a train or in a car on the street, I’m sure that gives it a different quality.
What I love best about the train video for Crown though is the fact that like any commute in any country, nearly all of the people are ignoring him. 😉
