Apache and the birth of hip hop

Good excerpt from Sample This! a documentary charting the history behind Incredible Bongo Band’s Apache. It might seem strange to only focus on one record, but there aren’t many record in hip hop as fundamental and used and abused as Apache (and important to founding at least 3 of the 4 elements and the invention of scratching), and as someone says in the clip you can just play it straight and it still rocks the party.
