One of the things that attracted my attention to Occupy Wall Street several years ago was the photos and graphics, and glad people are still keeping that spirit going with Occupy* Posters. It was a diverse spread of opinions – not even a conveniently unified message in a conventional political sense, that’s what made it so powerful.
I love the WTF Is Wrong With Americans particularly – I think in future, if humankind survives past 2030/40 with fracking, oil drilling and climate change and that’s a very big if – they’ll look at the ladders being pulled up over access to healthcare and education as being a dark time for humanity…a New Dark Age in fact, one that will have a legacy for a long time. This movement started when I went to University, and has gotten considerably worse, with the destruction of educational opportunities from inside and outside – to the point I think you should be more like Aaron Schwartz and educate yourself; because real thinking and teaching isn’t going to happen inside most Universities anymore. Certainly not the skills that I think you’ll need in 2020 or 2030, anyway, ones of protest, self-sufficiency, completely independent thought and actions, and even yes basic survival skills if it gets to that.
