Santastic 7 – new Christmas mashup and video

Santastic 7 – It’s a Wonderful Mash is here and it includes a mashup from yours truly, Christmaus mashing Bruce Haack’s rare festive vocoder track ‘I Like Christmas‘ and Deadmau5’s ‘Some Chords’ it’s strangely festive electro house track from yours truly…but managed to get a reference to some bah humbug in there šŸ˜‰

Those who have long memories will know this isn’t the first time I’ve been featured on Santastic – the evergreen Scarey Xmas (Mariah Carey vs Dillinja) was on Santastic 4. Still popular!

Some great tracks on there – It’s hard to choose any favourites since it’s a really solid compilation- although at one point it seemed to becoming a Smokey Robinson tribute compilation šŸ˜‰ I think Bob was relieved when I sent in something that wasn’t Jingle Bells!

I do though especially love Schmolli’s very funny Jingle Bells vs Pon De Floor one,Ā  mojochronic’s Ramones and downtempo ‘What Child is Too Close?’ and dj BC’s Jingle Pressure – which I liked so much I’ve made a video for it.

As the lyrics say:

Why can’t we give love that one more chance?
Why can’t we give love, give love, give love..?

‘Cause love’s such an old-fashioned word
and love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
Caring about ourselves”

If that isn’t a Christmas sentiment I don’t know what is.

This includes footage from the rather strange public domain film ‘Santa Claus’ – no not the one with Dustin, this is a 1950s Mexican film with clockwork reindeer, mouth loudspeakers, ear antenna, dancing demonic dolls, castles in space and guest spots from Merlin and a demon called Pitch. But despite the oddness t has a real heart to it, as you’ll see from the video – guest starring Elmo, Peanuts, The Grinch and David Bowie in natty jumper obviously knitted by his grandma šŸ˜‰
