A classic idea but with a new twist, and some shocking statistics….and some brave kids. Bullying especially of LGBT youth, but I think of anyone different is endemic now – I guess part of the trickle down of the recession and current political climate, kids copy what they get at home, and pass it along. But groups and videos like this give me hope – and films like Bully pass on a really important message, I may be a soppy old queer but things like this make me tear up, partly because I remember what happened to me as I came out and earlier at school.
This nearly 40 year old wants to say to myself and others: Bullying should not be tolerated by schools or parents or kids, and that yes it gets better…those years are the worst and most scary part, really. It’s far easier from then on.
