Carrying on in an ambient mode, Toronto turntable artist Cheldon Paterson aka Slowpitch has just sent me these live improvised videos and I love the mix of turntable, effects and sampler – I hate to compare but the closest thing is a woozy Burial/DJ Shadow/The Caretaker vibe. Check ’em out and you can hear more on his Soundcloud including remixes of Bjork, Austra and The Weeknd.
One to watch definitely – and if you’re in Toronto he’s got gigs there in March and April.
